Fiber Recoaters with Proof Testers offer easy, integrated methods to recoat and test fusion-spliced fibers. The integrated linear or rotary proof tester allows users to right away test a recoated fiber using a pre-determined load and determine the long-term reliability of the fiber. Manual mold assemblies, on the other hand, use hinged mold plates that offer more flexibility and are ideal for low-volume manufacturing or R&D applications. A computerized or manual volumetric dispensing pump and injection system is utilized to inject the recoat material into the mold cavity.

The PTR208 automatic recoater comes standard having a mold assembly for SZ stranding line; For our manual recoaters (Item #s PTR206, PTR206B, PTR307, and PTR307B), the mold assembly is sold separately in order that customers can choose the right mold coating diameter for their application. We provide both high-index (Item # AB950200) and low-index (Item # PC373) recoat materials for use during these recoaters. Recoaters with manual injection pumps (Item #s PTR206B and PTR307B) are compatible with both varieties of recoat material; all other recoaters are compatible with the high-index material only. Proof Tester Options – The PTR206, PTR206B, and PTR208 Fiber Recoaters include an incorporated linear proof tester, that can take the fiber up to a predetermined load (20 N) then releases it. The linear proof tester uses uojthk same fiber holding blocks as the recoater and thus the fiber does not need to be moved prior to testing. The PTR307 and PTR307B Fiber Recoaters come with an integrated rotary proof tester, which may perform both proof and tension tests (?89 N). One group of proof test grips is included; replacement proof test grips are available below in packs of 10. Each testing process is fully programmable via the included handset or tablet controller, allowing the user to pick parameters like the load, the speed at which the burden is used, and the hold time.

Inserts for Fiber Holding Blocks – As well as the above, we provide you with many different inserts to be used in the fiber holding blocks in the recoaters so that you can support an array of Secondary coating line.
